An event every day that begins at 7:00 pm, repeating until November 8, 2019
We are excited to present to our second show of the season William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
Prospero was the Duke of Milan – that is before he was usurped by his brother and banished to an island on the coast with his young daughter, Miranda. The two live on a mystical island with creatures such as spirits and fish monsters.
One day, a ship full of noblemen crash ashore during a tempest, caused by Prospero’s magic and the spirit, Ariel. This works as a perfect beginning for a revenge plot. With the noblemen now under his power, Prospero plans to get his rightful place back as Duke of Milan, and with his daughter now in love with one of these men, the job is almost too easy.
As one might guess, many magical antics follow!
One of Shakespeare’s many “tragi-comedies” and his last play ever written, the Tempest is a play full of magic, whimsy, and heart. A true roller-coaster ride of emotions from start to finish, ending with the beautiful and famous epilogue, which is thought to announce the Bard’s own retirement from the theatre world.
